ALGWA's 2009 Online Survey Results - What Women are Saying
The report from the ALGWA 2009 Online Survey conducted from February to March as part of the Implementation of the National Framework for Women in Local Government project supported by the Australian Government Women's Leadership and Development Program and the Australian Woman's Coalition is now available to download.
ALGWA is most grateful for the generous guidance and assistance received from the University of Technology Sydney (UTS) Centre for Local Government throughout this important project.
ALGWA is committed to accurate and current data collection to indicate the status of women in Local Government throughout Australia. The ALGWA research document prepared by UTS Centre for Local Government contains a detailed analysis of the online survey together with the review of the 2006 ABS census data relating to the realities of work and life for women employed in Local Government.
This information is also provided by ALGWA to assist governments, local government associations, research institutes and those interested in encouraging and supporting women's participation in Local Government to address the issues facing women in the sector and encourage further action on the status of women across Australia.
On behalf of the Australian Local Government Women's Association I sincerely thank all who took part in the survey. Your input has been vital to the success of our project.
